Every pond has a favorite. The frogs pick it, the dragonflies circle it, and the afternoon light lands on it first. This lily wasn't that one. She opened late, on a crooked pad in the middle of the water, while the pink bloom by the far bank got all the attention.

No One Likes Me is a quiet painting with a little wink in its title. The water shimmers in pink, gold, and blue, broken into the soft, dappled reflections of late-day sun. Wide green lily pads drift across the surface, dark foliage frames the lower corners, and right in the middle one white-and-pink water lily opens up without asking anyone's permission.
